The Library contains a versatile collection of Books, Research Reports, Scientific Serials, Theses, etc. in the fields of biomedicine and allied subjects with a special reference to communicable diseases. It consists of 26,500 back volumes of Scientific Serials, more than 10,500 Books, 4,000 Micro-fiches and a CD-ROM collection. Presently, more emphasis is laid on on-line databases and e-text knowledge materials.

The Library has a rich collection of primary and secondary sources covering the core subjects necessary for research conducted in the institute. The collection in library has been developed over the years with an objective to provide a good reference material.

The library receives about 100 core current scientific serials in the field of Bio-medical sciences, published in different corners of the world. The collection of the library consists of Text Books, Reference Books, Theses, Dissertations, Technical Reports, Microfiches, CDs/DVDs, E-Books, E-Journals, Online Databases, Print Scientific Serials, etc. This library has developed a rich collection of Reference Books, such as Dictionaries, Directories, Encyclopaedias, Pharmacopoeias, Handbooks, Annual Reviews, various Abstracting and Indexing sources, etc. in select disciplines.
