The Clinical Pathology Department is engaged in research in area such as, hospital-acquired infections. The department also undertakes research on herbal compounds and natural products to evaluate their therapeutic potential through studies like antimicrobial activity and phytochemical analysis. The department would like to initiate diagnostics-related research, including molecular and serological testing, PCR-based studies and analytical method development for disease detection and monitoring. Besides, department will be initiating new Research and Testing activities related to Newborn Screening and Cytogenetic Tests shortly.

The Clinical Pathology department also provides Research facilities to Short Term Research Internship Program (STRIP) Students. The department has initiated OJT Training program as well recently.
