TESTING

Various departments in the Institute are engaged in testing of several clinical specimens for laboratory diagnosis, management of diseases or routine investigations.
The institute also undertakes testing activities for commercial and research purposes along with collaborative research projects.

Tests undertaken by each department:

Department of Bacteriology

  1. Bacteriological examinations of water samples.
  2. Antibacterial efficacy and retention of bacteria by water purifiers.
  3. Antimicrobial efficacy (Anti-bacterial & Anti-fungal) testing of various types of disinfectants including that against M. tuberculosis.
  4. Sterility testing and Microbiological examination of food samples.
  5. Lyophilization of bacterial cultures.
  6. Testing as per Standard A.O.A.C., Rideal Walker Coeffecient, Staphylococcus aureus Coeffecient , ASTM, and IS14724 for UV-Water purifiers.
  7. In vitro antimicrobial efficacy testing of antimicrobial incorporated[nano particles of metal, organic compound] material like ceramic tiles, oil paints, paper sheets, fabrics material, or other polymeric substance as per Japanese standard specification.
